We must understand that obtaining knowledge is a form of worship – a way to truly show our gratitude towards Allah. The Holy Quran puts the highest emphasis on the importance of acquiring knowledge. “Seeking of knowledge is obligatory upon every Muslim”. We Muslims believe in the first revelation received by the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). that says: “Read — for thy sustainer is the Most Bountiful One who has taught (man) the use of the pen and taught humans (insan) what he did not know!”
